Title: Theoretical Yield Problem
Post by: KurzickMushroom on February 05, 2009, 09:39:04 PM
Hi, first post on chemical forums. I am not sure how to do this question...Find the theoretical yield of cupper from this reaction.
Cuprous Chloride dihydrate + Aluminum---> Cupper+ Aluminum Chloride + Water
3CuCl 2H20 + 2Al ---> 3Cu + 2AlCl3+ 6 H20

For this question we start out with 2 grams of Cuprous Chloride.

Thanks in advance.

Work with moles!

How many moles in 2 grams of cuprous chloride?

Thus what is the moles of Cu and mass of Cu?
