Title: Chemical Equilibrium
Post by: Wideplant on March 15, 2009, 05:17:22 PM
Essentially we have to design 5 experiments to alter the position of equilibrium in a reaction.

The reaction is Cu(H2O)4,2+(aq) + 2 ethylenediamine(aq) --> Cu(ethylenediamine)22+(aq) + 4 H2O(1)

Both the reactants are color coded so that shifts in equilibrium can be detected and distinguished between.  All I can think of doing in a lab setting is adding more products/reactants or adding heat. Any suggestions ?

Well, you can add reactants / products, or you can take them away....

You can add reagents that will bind somehow to your reactants...
