Post by: Mimidu on March 17, 2009, 04:49:59 PM
I'm doing decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and was wondering if anybody could advice me what other catalyst except of yeasts could I use?

Also i was wondering if somebody could explain mechanism for decomposition of h2o2 under alkali and acidic condition?

KI works...as used in the well-known elephant toothpaste demo!  :) Silver and MnO2 are also catalysts, if I remember correctly.
