Title: Hess's law
Post by: sparkly on March 25, 2009, 11:11:22 PM

Hess's law ____.
Choose one answer.
   a. determines the way a calorimeter works
   b. makes it possible to calculate ΔH for complicated chemical reactions
   c. states that when you reverse a chemical equation, you must change the sign of ΔH
   d. describes the vaporization of solids

I keep leaning toward B, but then i think it could be A too. B just seems too simple of an answer. What do you think?

I would go with B too.

A and B are both true, but B is not the best answer so my choice is A !

Calorimeter works thanks to the energy conservation, it doesn't need Hess law.

I think B would be much more appropriate
