Title: Stoichiometry question
Post by: Sally92 on June 10, 2009, 11:25:04 AM
2Fe (s) + 6HNO3 (g) -> 2 Fe(NO3)3 (s) + 3 H2 (g)

What mass in grams of hydrogen nitrate is required to produce 6.0 liters of hydrogen gas at stp?

Hi I need help with this question. Would I set it up like this 28/2x56/x/22.4 ? Sorry I can't riitht much I'm on my iPod touch. Thank you so much.

1. If you are confident you have the correct formulae for all the compounds and the equation  is balanced

2. Convert all masses to moles and use the chemical equation to find the relative molar amounts of each constituent in the reaction

2b. What equation relates the volume of a gas to moles?
