Here is the question:

The tolerance of a class A 50ml pipet is about +or- 1part per thousand,  which is equivalent to +or- X ml.    Where X is the anwser.  

 I put that X= +or- 0.001ml which I guess is wrong.   Can anyone explain why?

I am not sure exactly what your question means, but my guess wouldve been X= +/- .05 mL.

The way I read it, It says convert 1ppth to ml.

0.001mL is far below the accuracy with which you can read the result from burette. I would suppose that the accuracy of 1 ppt means "maximum accuracy of the titration", so ppt should be multiplied by the maximum volume - 50 in this case. This gives 0.05 mL, as stated by ksr985.
