Title: How are solvation energy and excess potential related?
Post by: nutrix on September 06, 2009, 07:53:50 AM

Hi all,

I calculated some free solvation energies for water molecules in another solvent. Now I'm wondering how I can compare these values with experimental data.

What I found are Henry constants for water vapor. I know that in the limit of infinite dilution the Henry constant is related to the excess chemical potential of a water molecule in the solvent. I'm thinking about it already a while now: Is this excess chemical potential comparable to the free solvation energy that I calculated before?

Please let me know if you have any idea.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Marco
