Title: phosphoric aicd
Post by: Rayan on June 13, 2005, 03:00:57 PM
hi,
i just want to know if it correct to name the H4P2O8 peroxopyrophosphoric acid because we had this in the exam, and i found that the right answer was peroxodiphosphoric acid, but in the exam, i thought that phosphoric acid is H3PO4 then the pyro will be 2 ortho - 1 H2O molecule, so it'll be H4P2O7. then the peroxo of this will be by replacing one O atom by 2 O atoms, and get the H4P2O8. it seems very logic to me!
