In my last lab we did various experiments with ferrocene and analysed similar compounds' 1H-NMR. One was the ferrocenium cation [(η5-C5H5)2Fe]+
Basically, I've been wondering why there's a broad signal at around 29.08ppm. Why is it this shape and at such a high chemical shift?

this is due to the paramagnetism of the cation.
