To stack Liquids on top of each other what is this called in chemistry?
I put a liquid in a cup jar and to stack another liquid form on top of it
i have to use a spoon to slow down the liquid to make it stack on top
of the first liquid in the cup.
What is this called in chemistry?
Why does the spoon slow down the liquid?
What does the spoon do really? does it displace the liquid?
Why does it slow it down?
I seen a Chemistry Funnel with a value what is the name of this chemisty
funnel they use for chemistry to mix or break up the density?

the spoon slows down the liquid because it absorbs the impact of the liquid as it falls down and hence prevents the liquid from possibly sinking down suddenly due to the impact of the fall, due to the surface tension of the liquid at the bottom
the spoon just acts as a impact cushion for the liquid because u are holding it firmly. the liquid slows down because it has lost its gravitional potential energy(after falling down), and thus does not move alot anymore.

So its all about the gravitional energy lost?
Because if i pour the liquid in slower really slow it
doesn't layer ontop of another liquid it sinks to the
bottom why?
If it hits the spoon first the gravite changes the liquid?
The Spoon must change something very big here
because it changes the liquids potential but why?
Why does it Layer only with a spoon? or something
in the middle of the pouring processes?

nono dont get the wrong idea
gravitional potential energy is converted to kinetic energy, which accelerates the liquid down. after it hits the spoon, energy is lost as heat in friction (a tiny amount) thus the liquid doesnt move alot. it also doesnt move alot because its quite dense.
if u put a denser liquid onto a less dense liquid, no matter how lightly u put, the denser liquid will sink down, (think of an iron ball on cotton wool, no amtter how lightly u place it the iron ball will crush the cotton wool)
most liquids are free-flowing and have no rigid arrangement of particles. hence gravity doesnt change the liquid in any way.
the spoon only absorbs the kinetic energy released by the liquid.
yes the 2 liquids dont mix at all. thats better known as immiscible liquids.
the spoon slows down the liquid by absorbing the kinetic energy away and since the spoon is lower, the liquid now has less gravitional energy, and also has a shorter distance to fall from.
the spoon functions as an impact cushion
(think of how people are rescued from buildings. firemen often put out a parachute because if the people just jump down, they may be killed from the impact. with the cushion, their landing is generally safe and they are safely lowered down to the ground.)

Layering is density dependent. Any solution has a specific density. Those with higher density sink through those with lighter densities, and the lighter density solutions will tend to remain floating above the high density liquids.when mixed with others some tend to float and some tend to sink to the bottom of the container.
liqueurs are poured in order of their weight, starting with the heaviest first

So the Spoon= breaks the fall and causes the liquid to "build"
on top
Does "Turbulance" have a effect on this?
Does the Spoon= control the turbulance?

Also remember that if the two liquids are miscible then density would not matter.

Miscible liquids are soluble in each other, so it wouldn't matter what their densities are they would still mix and form a solution. They certainly do not stack. ;)

So the spoon is a Diffusion device?
Is the spoon controlling the turbulance? the flow of the turbulance?

Basically if you poured very slowly and carefully you wouldn't need the spoon. It just stops the liquid from penetrating the one already in the jar or something. Call it what you want, reducing the kinetic energy as it hits the surface of the next liquid, whatever.
