Title: help to balance equation
Post by: RSteel on June 18, 2005, 09:38:35 PM
Can someone help me to solve this equation?!

C3H3N3O3 + Na2Co3 + heat = X

THEN

X + C + heat = ?

P.S.  The C is activated charcoal (carbon).

THANKS!!!

What kind of compounds are those ( are they acids/bases/salts/etc..)?

What type of reaction would that be?

Once the type of reaction is known, the products should be easier to determine.

Here's a hint: those look like pool chemicals to me, one is a stabiliser for chlorine and the other affects pH.

Here's the chemicals I know so far...

cyanuric acid + sodium carbonate + HEAT = unknown

unknown + activated charcoal + HEAT = unknown
