Title: ethanoic acid titration
Post by: bindy on November 04, 2009, 02:01:43 PM
can any one help, have to determine the pKa of ethanoic acid using the following three methods, pH=pHa (half neutralisation point-4.5) pH=1/2(pKa-log10Ca)( initial pH-2.69)
pH=1/2pKa+1/2pKw+1/2log10Cs(end point equalisation-8.8) sorry need urgent help on this, just feel like giving up, aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks

Hi,

You could try plotting a titration curve graph of pH against volume, then estimate the pKa from the point of half neutralisation.
