Title: convert cyclopentane to cyclopentene

how do you convert cyclopentane to cyclopentene? i can't use dehydrogenation.

Starting from an alkane, you are fairly limited in your options for introducing functionality from which you can go on to make an alkene. What reactions of alkanes do you know?

try free radical and then eliminating.

you can brominate cyclopentane under the light ,and then eliminate the HBr
