Title: Electrolysis NaCl (aq)

Why does NaOH form when we electrolyze NaCl (aq). Why does the NaCl not stay NaCl.

What is it about the ion OH- that causes it to be more strongly attracted than Cl-. Alternatively, what is it about Cl- that makes it easier to discharge
