Hello,
I need to mix 2 chemicals together to create a gas.(either explosively or gradually)
This gas will fill a chamber and be under pressure, then be used to drive a "steam" engine.
Maybe recover the gas after it has been used.
What chemicals can I use for this? Any ideas please?
Thanks,
Mike UK.

You could use:
sodium carbonate or sodium bicarbonate and an acid (makes CO2)
aluminum with hydrochluric acid (makes Hydrogen)
aluminum with NaOH (makes hydrogen)

may be an easy way is that better use calcium carbide with water through which a large quantity of acetylene will be produced with pressure within no time and is very economical ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
