Title: Spherical magnets and field lines

This just kind of crossed my mind.  How do field lines go for spherical magnets?  I know that even if it were an isolated magnet, the lines couldn't just go forth indefinitely, they'd have to draw back into the magnet somewhere (it can't be monopolar).  So what determines the polarity of spherical magnets?

I do not know the answer
but
the earth is sphere like and it has a north and south magnetic location

do you think all sphere magnets work the same way?

Honestly, I would have to say 'no', but that is barely an educated guess, based on the knowledge that different things can give rise to magnetism.
