Title: What is a "electron buffer"?
Post by: Shinza on March 16, 2010, 05:06:27 PM
Hi,
I am reviewing for an instrumental analysis exam, and I am stuck on the term "Electron Buffer."

I can't find it in either of the 2 textbooks that I have, and I think it may be listed under a different term that I am not aware of.

So, my question is, how is this term defined (or what is a more commonly used term for it).
Also, if you know what the composition of the buffer is, that would also help (I think I recall there being 2 components).

To get an idea of the context, here is how it is listed in the study guide:

Know the "chemical equilibrium reaction that occurs in AA during ionization, effect on results, effect of electron buffer, composition of buffer."

Thanks
