hi , hi found this procedure in the web , i wonder if anyone knows what is the reaction .
take a Fe(NO3)3 solution , and add citric acid.
take the pH to 7 with a ammonia solution.
evaporate the solution at 90°C until you obtain a GEL .

Plan on doing some spin coating? Citric acid can coordinate with the iron, but I wouldn't say it is a reaction.

i suppose the reaction is between (NO3--) and the citric acid , a redox reaction.
but if i obtain a gel mabye the citric acid polumerize with himslef ?(ester)
