Title: How many grams HCl should be added to buffer to change 0.07 pH units?
Post by: help1 on April 21, 2010, 09:29:22 PM
A buffer is prepared by mixing 50 mL of 0.050 M sodium bicarbonate and 10.7 mL of 0.10 M NaOH. (Ka = 4.7 x 10^-11)

How many grams of HCl must be added to 25 mL of the buffer to change the pH by 0.07 units?

Thanks! I have been trying to manipulate the henderson hasselbach equation to get the answer for an hour now, and I can't get it, please *delete me*

Start with pH BEFORE NaOH is added - that should be easy.

What happens when you add NaOH?
