Title: Fluoroscence
Post by: rekhasharma on April 22, 2010, 05:04:05 PM
What is the method of taking fluoroscence in different solvent. should we make solution of compound also in different solvent or we should take different solvent in Cuvette only. for example I have to take fluoroscence of my compound in DCM, hexane, acetonitrile, benjene, DMSO etc.... and I have solution of my compound in dichloro methane so now for different solvent can I add same solution (Compound dissolved in DCM) and take different solvent in cuvette only.
OR should I make compound's solution also in different solvent first??

Dichloromethane = DCM

A good place to start

Run your background spectra with the solvent plus whatever amount of DCM you are adding for your solution.  I doubt the DCM has any effect on fluorescence but that will ensure that you don't have a problem.
