Make a diagram of an electrolytic tank containing a solution of sodium chloride decimolar.
Connected to a generator, is a graphite electrode in the negative pole, and an iron electrode in pole
positive. From your diagram:
a) Write the equations of semi-reactions, and the overall reaction.
b) Say what happens to the pH.
c) Describe the color next to the electrodes when playing phenolphthalein.
Is : Fe -> (Fe²+) + 2e and (C²+) + 2e -> C. The Cl- will be on the iron electrode thus PH<7 e the graphite electrode PH>7 ?
