hi guys nickel forms an anion [NiSe4]2- that is a square planar while the analogous zinc anion , [ZnSe4]2- is tetrahedral?

What's your question? Are you asking whether they form complexes, or whether the shapes are right?

Ni2+ and Zn2+ have different electronic configurations. The former has [Ar]3d8 and the latter has [Ar]3d10. Hope this helps
