Title: Nail polish and photographies
Post by: __Linnea__ on June 02, 2010, 09:54:54 PM
Hi!

You have to excuse my really bad english... I'm so sorry for that.

Anyway:

Iv'e got some really stupid questions I would like to get an answer to.

What pH-value do nail polish have? Do all polish have approximately the same value?

How about archival safety and nail polish?

If you draw on a paper with nail polish and then leave it in a cool and dark place. What would the result be in 20-30 years? Is nail polish deteriorating to paper?

I'm going to paint a little in my photobook. I'm a little bit concerned over what will happen to my beloved photographies...

Hoping for reply!

Sincerely,
Linnea

I doubt you will be able to find an answer here, this is way too specific problem IMHO. Check if there are no art conservators in your area and call them.
