Title: Rutherfordium
Post by: seas3to5 on July 06, 2010, 10:16:49 PM
Rutherfordium

Basically I am a Skeptic that deals with the game of craps. I picked up a book at the library today on cheating in the casinos. I came across this; the writer claimed that they were using Rutherfordium mixed with paint to load dice.
I did some quick research, and from what I found there is no way that would work if you could even buying it!
So I found your site and thought that I could get the answer to my questions!

 A.  Could you buy Rutherfordium?
 B.   Isn't it dangerous to handle?
 C.   Doesn't it decay away?
 D.   The information I found was from 2008
 E.    This author claimed that it was also magnetic, and that they were using electromagnets under the table to stop the dice. Could that be true?

I say no way to all of it, but I need to know if any of this would work before I post on a craps playing forum, busting this author on what he wrote!

Thanks seas3to5

A. No.
B. It would be if you had a significant amount. At the present time there is no way to make a significant amount.
C. Yes.
E. Rf probably isn't magnetic. It would probably be possible to use electromagnets under a table to stop dice if they were loaded with something other than Rf (iron?).
