Title: De-sizing fabric
Post by: jsntg on August 28, 2010, 10:35:28 PM
Does anyone know how to remove formaldehyde resin / sizing from fabric?

Formaldehyde resin (HCHO) is used to align the fibers and to make it 'no iron'. In this case, a dress shirt. The resin does not appear to be water soluble. So the question is, should I be looking at enzymatic, oxidative, acid or some other way to de-size the fabric? Any easy 'household' methods?

Thanks,

Hugh
