Title: General Enthalpy Questions
Post by: eigen on October 02, 2010, 03:58:17 PM
1) Use your value for the heat of neutralization, (http://www.forkosh.dreamhost.com/mimetex.cgi?{ \mathrm{\Delta{H_1}} = -62\;\mathrm{kJ/mol}), to determine the amount of heat evolved when 10.00 mL of 0.4992 M (http://www.forkosh.dreamhost.com/mimetex.cgi?{ \mathrm{HNO_3}) reacts with 10.00 mL of 0.5005 M NaOH.

2) The standard enthalpy of formation of (http://www.forkosh.dreamhost.com/mimetex.cgi?{ \mathrm{Li^{+}(aq)}) is -278.5 kJ/mol. How much heat is evolved
when 0.0756 g of Li(s) reacts with excess hydrochloric acid?

Thanks a bunch!
