an order was written for a patient to receive 30mg/kgm/day of amoxicillan. The patient weighed 55kgm. How much drug should the patient recieve daily?

55 *30 will give you the answer in mgs. If you want to know why, let us know. Just a matter of dimensional analysis.

The units of the dosage is 30mg/(kg*day) multiply that by the patients mass 55kg.
30mg/(kg*day) * 55kg = 165 mg/day . That's because the units cancelef to give you only mg/day left. :) Let me know if you need more detail then this.
