Hi i have a couple of NMR and IR charts etc. that i received in my lab and i was just wondering if anyone could look over these and see if i identified my unknown compound correctly.
The second and third pictures are just close ups of the whole chart.
I think the compound is.. H-C=0-CH2-CH2-Ch2-CH3...Butyraldehyde
Thanks for your help

If you have a known compound, then it's always a good idea to compare with the literature. Sigma Aldrich has a lot of NMR and IR data on its website. Check here; http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/ProductDetail.do?lang=en&N4=20710|FLUKA&N5=SEARCH_CONCAT_PNO|BRAND_KEY&F=SPEC for your aldehyde..

The spectra are integrated.
Your suggestion for butyraldehyde seems ok

3 x CH2 groups are in valeraldehyde (pentanal)

Yeah, underneath. I looked on top of the peaks because I'm used to seeing them there and ppm below the peaks. Thanks!
