Title: Anhydrous DMC-how to keep it dry
Post by: kathie747 on May 21, 2004, 11:29:29 AM
Hi!

I'm getting some anhydrous dimethyl carbonate to use in a dry room.  What is the best way to store it to ensure it absorbs as little water as possible.  An aquaintance stated that using a molecular 4 sieve might work?  Does anyone know for sure?

And what exactly does "use a sieve" mean?  Do I just add some of the sieve to the container?

Thanks,
Kathie

Yes, but you shoud dry it by heating before use.
