I thought I understood this stuff, but apparently not, according to the results of my test :'( >:( ::) ??? :o :-[
Are the following molecules IONIC, POLAR COVALENT, or NON-POLAR COVALENT? (I only have those 3 choices)
1) CCl4
2) CO2
Thanks, much appreciated!

What are your definitions of these terms?

I'm not quite sure what my teacher meant by these, because in class we learned that symmetrical molecules are non-polar, and that molecules without symmetry are polar.
Then he threw all those terms together on the test and messed everyone up.

Do you know the structures of these compounds? The geometry?
