Title: NaOH on Chalcone-does it majorly impact NMR?

Last week in my O Chem lab, we had to synthesize Chalcone and in obtaining the crude product, we had to use NaOH pellets to help with the reaction. After obtaining the crude product through vacuum filtration, I washed the crude product with two amounts of water to help rinse off any excess NaOH left on it. My concern is, if for any reason any NaOH was still on it when I submitted the recrystallized product for NMR, will it greatly impact the spectrum?

You might see more water in your product spectrum. However, if you ran it in chloroform-d, NaOH probably won't be particularly soluble so I doubt you'd see much even if it was in there.

Thanks a lot! I got the NMR spectrums back today and it looked like they turned out ok.  :)

Here's my NMR of my Chalcone. I still have yet to have analyzed the peaks but does it look like it turned out the way it should have?
