Title: acetone ethanol solution
Post by: insidejob on October 21, 2005, 02:12:24 AM
Acetone can hold up to 23mg of (Y) per ml. Ethanol can hold only 1.28mg of (Y) per ml. If I add 30ml of ethanol to 1ml of acetone. Would the acetone hold on to the 23mg of (Y),  or would the solution of the two mix evenly.

acetone (also known as propanone, dimethyl ketone, 2-propanone, propan-2-one and beta-ketopropane) is the simplest representative of the ketones...  It is readily soluble in water, ethanol, ether, etc., and itself serves as an important solvent.

According to the Wikipedia Encylopedia, acetone is soluble in ethanol and therefore can be mixed evenly.

In regarding to the solubility of the mixture.  Since it is mixed evenly, I would expect its solubility will stay proportional.   ;)

I hope this will help~!
