Title: determining concentration by spectrophotometry expt
Post by: zweihound on January 16, 2012, 11:12:03 PM
We did an experiment for spectrophotometry wherein we prepared stock solutions of FeCl3 and KSCN, both are 15mL 1.0M and are diluted up to 100ml with HCl. 5 solutions with different volumes from stock solutions were prepared.  Spectrophotometer was then used to measure the absorbance of solutions. Is there a significance of having an acid to dilute the solutions? would the results be different if we dilute the solutions with water?
thanks in advance

Do you know Ksp for Fe(OH)3?
