Title: Dexamethasone Acetate
Post by: hfxoxo on January 31, 2012, 07:48:52 AM
Hey,

I'm looking for the synthesis of dexamethasone acetate for a report.
I have the synthesis of dexamethasone but don't know how to form the acetate salt.

If anyone could help, thanks.

:D

The pharmaceutical you've mentioned is known as a drug of abuse, and we don't like to give specifics on that subject on this forum.  If you can understand how a modified glucosteroid is manufactured, you can certainly understand the method for preparing the acetate salt of an organic base.  Try to look that up, and maybe ask a more general question if you're still stuck.
