Title: Effect of magnetic fields on energy/reaction pathways
Post by: AgG on November 20, 2005, 05:02:48 AM
Im afraid my lack of qm and magnetism training is going to show through here..

can strong homogeneous magnetic fields be used to keep electrons from antiferromagnetically coupling?
or rather,
if the lowest energy configuration of unpaired electrons is aligned with the field can a product yielding antiferromagnetic coupling be disfavored in a strong enough mag. field? if not, does that mean that antiferromagnetic coupling of multiple electrons is simultaneous?

just wondering..
