Title: Michaelis-Mentin Problems
Post by: dazza95 on August 29, 2012, 10:34:31 PM
We conducted an experiment with different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide (substrate) and reacted it with catalase (enzyme). We measured the rate of the oxygen gas being produced so that we could find the michaelis menten constant.
Attatched are results obtained, with the km and vmax calculated for each method of km calculation.
Why are our results so high?
Note: the concentration units used were millimolar (mM). Therefore the km should be around 25 but it is 1000s off.
