Title: Net Ionic Equation
Post by: Freshmeat on September 15, 2012, 08:40:24 PM
I needed to find the molecular and the net ionic equation from Aluminum Hydroxide (Al(OH)3(s)) with a solution of Hydrobromic acid (HBr).

I Have found the Molecular Equation, Al(OH)3 (s) + 3HBr (aq) :rarrow: 3H2O (l) +AlBr3 (aq) .

The net ionic equation I keep getting is wrong, based on a program I am doing all my chemistry problems through. What I get is, 3OH- + 3H+  :rarrow: 3H2O. This is being registered incorrectly and I have attempted this same equation with out the balanced portion.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Try inputting the net ionic equation that produces AlBr3
