Title: mass spectrometry
Post by: edwin brooke on September 16, 2012, 06:01:55 AM
Why the sample is needed to vaporize before undergoing the ionization process in mass spectrometer?
Thx

Lets work together, and try to figure this one out.  You ask, why vaporize, prior to ionization, for a mass spec.  Can you answer:  How may ionized liquids or solids you have seen?  Can you also answer how a mass spectrometer works?  Can it analyze a stream or liquid or a chuck of solid (or maybe a finely sifted powder?)
