Title: vacuum pressure under steam distillation
Post by: Maydi on October 25, 2012, 10:45:50 AM
Hi there,

What is the vacuum pressure in steam distillation? I just need a rough estimate.

We're using a distiller and are using a separate boiler to create the steam. The distiller is sealed with a layer of water on top once the lid is closed. Once the lid is closed and the steam is created, some pressure is created. But without a measuring instrument, I cannot make a pressure reading. All I need is a rough indication if that is possible.

Thanks
