Title: What was the worst/best (happy) accident you have had in the lab?

What was the worst/best (happy) accident you have had in the lab? Did you have a catastrophic explosion releasing a new plague into the world, or did you add the wrong solid and made gold as a result.

I'm in the second part of organic chemistry, and in lab I was to add 6M sulfuric acid to some spearmint oil. I used 18M instead, but forgot to diluted. There was a short violent reaction, and I got the product an my arms and shirt. It wasn't much thank goodness.

Actually I added the wrong solid, as you suggested, and obtained a good yield of gold. But I'm not telling which materials were involved.
