Title: Synthesis of estrogen from cholesterol
Post by: x(why)z on June 11, 2013, 10:52:44 PM
Hello all,

I'm not a chemist, or even scientist but rather an impassioned amateur. I am actually an artist who is developing a project and I was hoping someone might have an online resource or could recommend a book outlining the process of synthesizing estrogen from cholesterol.

Any help would be supremely appreciated.

Many thanks! I will update this thread if I find a good source, and keep you all in the loop into the what the project entails.

Most biochemistry textbooks should cover this.  Here's one that's available online:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK22339/
