Title: Rate Constant
Post by: blitzhitz on September 17, 2013, 12:24:05 PM
I need help finding the rate constant for each trial and the average value of the rate constant.

Info -

Initial Na2S2O3   Log Na2S2O3  Rate   Log Rate
.100M               -1                 .034    -1.47
.0750M             -1.125            .027    -1.57
.500 M              -.301             .017    -1.77
.0250 M             -1.602           .008    -2.097

Slope = 1.042

Well that's the problem. I don't know where to start. I tried looking up how to find rate constant but it confused me. I understood how to find slope with the information given. I'm just sketchy on the concept of "Rate Constant".

What text book are you using?

I doubt this is the entire problem.  Write out the entire problem, then we can proceed from there.  "Rate constant" for what process, would be my first question.
