hi...what is the meaning of collisions? ???

It's when 2 molecules collide with eachother. If they collide at the right angle and frequence they could combine and make a new molecule.

Then you have your elastic and inelastic collisions which simply describe whether or not the kinetic energy before and after the collision are the same.  So you might have two gas molecules or whatever just bounce off of each other with no interaction, or some of the energy can go into deforming each other/break bonds.
