Can you guys upload some of your personal avatars to www.avatar-gallery.com and let me know if it uploads and displays in the new avatars page correctly. Thank you in advance. There may be some scooby snacks involved. ;)

I tried to upload the Texas flag I used to use, but I got the message:
Sorry could not upload avatar, please review our upload policies
My filename was tx_flag_60.jpg, (plus a path to the place on my machine), it is 2kb in size.
I'm not sure how this breaks the policies.
-
Sorry, I forgot the 'e' in jpeg within the code, it should work now.
-
I tried again and it still didn't work. (Same error message).
I tried to give both the pathname on my machine, as well as an http link, no luck for either.
-
What username are you using?
-
'Mark Kness' (without the quote). There is a space in it, which conceivably is problematic.
-
Yes that was the problem, but I fixed it. It can handle spaces now.
-
It still isn't working for me.
BTW - After I tried specifying the file via http link, the text to the right of the 'Submit Avatar' button changed to something like 'application/octet-stream' or such. (I didn't write it down). Don't know if that is a clue.
-
Don't use the http, just use the browsw button to navigate to it. I'm surprised this isn't working. Its worked for others. hmmm...
-
Tried again, making sure I was using the browse button, and still no go. :(
-
Can you upload the file to this thread. I'm getting very curious now.
-
Here it is.
-
It uploaded just fine. I din't even type in a user name or anything.
-
I just tried uploading it, leaving the user name blank, and it claimed to work.
Then, I tried again, giving my correct username as 'Mark Kness' (no quotes), and it gripes.
So the username must be the problem somehow?
-
try again? With Mark Kness and everything.
-
Success!!
I don't get any error messages, and looking at the new avatars, I see one uploaded by Mark_Kness that I think is the one I just did.
(I guess you turned the space into an underscore?)
-
Yeah, sorry for all the hassle. :)

I like the site, too bad it'll never be used by anyone. But' I still like it and always wanted to make a site like that.
Now I need to go fufill all my other childish whims. If anyone needs a webprogrammer for anything let me know. :P
