So called authorities are already posted about.

In the meantime read about scam hunters: http://www.419eater.com/index.htm (http://www.419eater.com/index.htm)

I got that too. I forwarded to Mitch though. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that got it.

Dammit I got TWO of them within minutes of each other.  He probably mass-sent it to every member in this forum.

I didn't know it was possible to send to ALL users in one shot.  Perhaps restricting the ease of mass distribution to admin/mods only.  Anyone else who wants to send to hundreds will have to manually type each username.

I don't think he sent his mail to all at once. He mailed me on 07:12:32pm (local Warsaw time) - check if minutes and seconds are the same.

Nothing we can do about auto-message bots. When the forum gets upgraded to smf1.6 from YaBB SE, there should be more built in security to handle situations like that.

That time doesn't match the time that I got my message at.

This is rather interesting, as I've recently obtained an interest in E-mail scams and urban legend chains.

Which probably means it was sent manually.

What someone should do, is scam the scammers, say, set up a bank account that is never to be used, other than to mess with them, they often ask people, apparently to travel to nigeria, or wherever they claim to be from, to rob the unfortunate scam-ee, someone needs to set up a bank account, and ask for a travel fee/allowance, once it gets paid, as they will likely be willing to pay a small amount in order to gain a far larger amount of money, once its paid, email them, tell them they jus got jacked, and to stuff their scam, right where the sun doesn't shine ;D

If I had ID I would set one up myself, but unfortunately my passport is out of date by about 3 years, its good for buying alcohol, on the rare occasion, I.E once or twice a month I go for a pint down the pub with a few friends, but if I can get a new one, I might just make a bit of cash scamming the scammers 8)

I find it really funny that the dipshit tried to pull the scam here at the forums.  If you're going to do something stupid like that, try to do it with a group of mentally challenged individuals.  None of us here are mentally retarded so nobody is ignorant enough to fall for it.  lol.

Totally agree. I remember reading about people who do this on the BBC website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/3887493.stm. I tried to do this once following this guys example but the scammer didn't respond :(.

Could you at least read earlier posts from the same thread? I have posted link to site about scam hunters over a month ago.
