what is the effect of pressure on melting point of a substance?
-
Why don't you tell us what you think it is.
-
My guess is that increasing pressure should increase the melting point of a substance, but not by much, since solids are not very compressible.

It is not about solid compressibility, it is about volume change between solid and liquid phase.
