Title: Extraction of formaldehyde from textile (EN-14184-1 method)
Post by: cody on March 02, 2014, 08:57:09 AM
Hello,

I am doing an analysis of formaldehyde content in a textile sample in accordance with the EN14184-1 method using UV/VIS spectrophotometer,

there are some questions wanna ask:

1. By EN14184-1 method, Formaldehyde is extracted from a textile sample with water at 40 °C. So why should the extraction temperature be kept constant at 40°C?

2. Is there any better instrumental method for this analysis? HPLC, GC?

thanks.
