1. Is this a carbene reaction?
2. If so, aren't you missing a carbon in the product?

Looks good to me.

You could possibly do it the other way around as well, using a diazocompound derived from ethyl methyl ketone and ethylene.

Another option would be to use a Simmons-Smith reagent which uses CH2I2 and [Zn-Cu] to achieve the cyclopropanation.  I'm not 100% positive that it works with enones, however.
