Title: synthesis of 4-Benzoylbutyric acid

Hello.

I have a course where I have to synthesize 4-Benzoylbutyric acid form glutaric anhydride and benzene. The synthesis is catalyzed by[AlCl][/3]. I my report i have to explain the formation of side products dibenzoylpropane, and i'm lost. hope someone can help me.

Is that the product of a second Friedel-Crafts reaction?
