Title: Find the Possible Mechanism
Post by: eleventhxhour on October 13, 2014, 07:02:45 PM
The rate law equation is r = k[X][Y]^2

b) What is the rate-determining step?
c) What is a possible mechanism, including the slow step?

So I have that the rate-determining step is X + 2Y --> some product.
But I'm not sure what you'd put in as the product, and then for the other reactions...
